Meet the Author
Michael Aloisi is a national bestselling author, publisher, and storyteller whose work has reached readers in more than ninety countries. With a career spanning fiction, nonfiction, film, television, and publishing, he has built a reputation for bringing compelling stories to life, whether they emerge from the dark corners of horror, the fascinating history of cinema, or the remarkable lives of real people.
A lifelong lover of storytelling, Michael holds a BFA in Film Directing and an MFA in Creative Writing. After years working in entertainment, he founded AM Ink Publishing and its horror-focused imprint, Dark Ink, with a simple goal: create books driven by passion rather than trends. What began as a small independent press has grown into an internationally recognized publisher with more than 130 titles in print and a catalog that includes some of the most respected names in horror and genre entertainment.
As an author, Michael has written or co-written numerous books, including the official biographies of horror legends Tom Savini and Kane Hodder. His collaboration with Steve Gonsalves, the national bestseller A Life with Ghosts, was published by Simon & Schuster and introduced his work to an even wider audience. Currently, he is working with Danielle Harris and Linnea Quigley on their biographies.
His fiction ranges from suspenseful novels to dark and unsettling horror. A novel he co-wrote, Pieces, was named an "Essential Read" by Rue Morgue Magazine, while his horror fiction under the pen name Michael Gore, over 100 short stories over four collections, has earned a loyal following among genre readers.
Beyond writing, Michael has overseen the publication of acclaimed books exploring the making of iconic films, worked with some of the biggest names in horror, and helped bring stories from page to screen. His has sold original film scripts and television pitches and ghost-written numerous articles and pieces for a variety of outlets. Mike’s projects have been adapted into documentary and television productions, translated into multiple languages, and featured by media outlets around the world.
When he's not writing, publishing, teaching, or speaking at events, Michael can usually be found watching horror movies, planning his next book, or proving that the best stories often come from the most unexpected places. He lives in New England with his family and remains dedicated to helping readers discover new worlds—whether they're terrifying, inspiring, or somewhere in between.
